It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear mother Denise at the West Nipissing General Hospital on September 15, 2024 at the age of 93.
Predeceased by her husband of 65 years Wilfred Philippe as well as their son, Brian. Cherished mother of Gary (Louise), Robert, Percy (Linda), Don (Raymonde), Peggy Stewart (Brad), Wayne (Linda) and Theresa Lynne Philippe (Paul). Proud grandmother of 16 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren. Also survived by her sisters, Myrella (Barry), Jacqueline (Wilfrid), Réjeanne and Rita (Janet) as well as many nieces and nephews.
An active member of the CWL for over 60 years, she was also part of the Ladies Auxiliary for 20+ years. Denise was also proud to have been named as Canada’s youngest postmaster when she started work at the Desaulniers General Store at the age of 15.
Family are receiving friends for a visitation on Friday, September 20th from 6 pm until 8 pm at Hillside Funeral Services 362 Airport Rd, North Bay. A funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of Sorrows Church on Saturday, September 21 at
