It is with deep sorrow that the family of Robert (Bob) James O’Hare announce his peaceful passing on Sunday, November 10, 2024, surrounded by the love of his family at the North Bay Regional Hospital. He was 68.
Beloved husband of Norma O’Hare. Dear father of Kristen Smalldon (Rob) and Scott (Vie). He will be sadly missed by his grandchildren: Robbie, Bekah and Ryann. Bob will also be deeply missed by his brother Michael (Colleen) of Oshawa, Ontario. Survived by his brother in-law Vernon Watson (Shirley) and his sister’s in-law Helen (Larry Jeanneault), Betty Praill and Bernie Watson. He was predeceased by his parents Philip and Jean O’Hare of North Bay and his brother’s in-law Myles Watson, Bruce Watson and Don Praill.
While Bob spent his career working as a butcher at Food City / Sobey’s, his true passion was cars, and he was a long time and active member of the North Bay Cruisers car club. He will be deeply missed by many friends.
The O’Hare family would like to express our deepest gratitude to Dr. McKenna and Dr. Phillipson for the excellent and compassionate care they provided him over the years.
Bob was a man who would give you the shirt off his back and then hand you his shoes for good measure. For those wishing to honour Bob’s spirit of generosity, the family would welcome donations being made to the North Bay Regional Hospital – Cardiac Unit, The Gathering Place North Bay or a local charity of your choosing.
For those wishing to join us, we will gather to celebrate Bob’s life and share memories at HILLSIDE FUNERAL SERVICES, 362 Airport Rd. on Sunday November 17th, 2024, from 2 pm until 5 pm. Private interment will be held at a later date. Online condolences at www.hillsidefuneral.ca
