Jean Marie McParland, cherished wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, June 23, 2024, at the age of 97, surrounded by her loving family. Her resilience, courage, and unwavering faith were an inspiration to all who knew her.
Born to Frederick and Rachel (nee Knight) Coghlan, Jean met and married the love of her life, the late George McParland. Together, they raised four children: Susan Germon-McParland, Edward McParland (late Wendy), and the late Raymond and Cathy. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren Steven, Kevin, Christopher, Ryan, Erin, Leanne, Terra, Chad, and Rerrick, and her cherished great-grandchildren Hannah, Noah, Hunter, Nathan, Carter, Mila, Katelynn, and Kayden. Step Grandchildren Reilly Germon, Rhiannon Robison. She will also be missed by numerous nieces and nephews.
Jean’s passions included cooking, baking, and enjoying heartfelt conversations. She loved playing cribbage and was an active member of the Holy Name of Jesus Parish.
Jean’s warmth, kindness, and steadfast faith touched many lives. Her spirit will continue to inspire all who knew her.

Jean’s memory will be honoured at a memorial mass on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at 11:00am at Holy Name of Jesus Church. In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place.
