On Sunday, December 3, 2023, after a four-year courageous battle with cancer Victor William Thomas McLeod passed away at the age of 76. Victor was born on August 1, 1947, in North Bay to Victor and Margaret McLeod, both predeceased.
An avid outdoorsman all his life, Victor loved North Bay for the proximity to the bush where he would go hunting. Of course, nothing made him happier than being out on the water fishing. He passed his love of the outdoors on to his two sons James (April) and Kris (Jenn) who both live in Alberta, and they are passing on the tradition to his beloved grandchildren, Kaylee, Emma, Koby, Wyatt, and Angela. He will be missed by his many nieces and nephews, his friends who shared his love of fishing as well as his former workmates at Kenroc and Boart Longyear.
According to Victor’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral. His family will grieve privately while cherishing their memories together. If anyone would like to honour his memory, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society in his name would be appreciated.
His family would like to send special thanks to his ex-wife Claudette Ranger, her son Mitchell and her brother Claude who cared for him tirelessly until the end.
Also special thanks to Dr. Gopalakrishnan, Oncology Dept at HSN Sudbury, and heartfelt thanks to Dr. Moore and the Palliative Care staff in North Bay who near the end paid him daily visits. Online condolences can be made at www.mcguintyfuneralhome.com
