Major, Marilyn (September 17, 1958 - October 24, 2023)
It is with heavy hearts that the family announces her peaceful passing on Tuesday, October 24, 2023 at the North Bay Regional Health Centre at the age of 65.
Marilyn was the loving mother to Melanie (Tim) and Logan. She was the sister to Wayne and Will Harman (Linda). Marilyn was predeceased by her parents Della (née Grant) and William “Bill” Harman. Marilyn will be dearly missed by her (living) aunts and uncles; Shirley, Eddie, and Murray. She will be sorely missed by her nephews Ryan (Mandy), Derick (Tanya), James and Michael. Great aunt to Maverick Janveau and Hailey Harman.
Marilyn was a lover of birds and nature, she was always interested in outdoor adventures including hikes, bicycling, skiing, picking berries, snowshoeing, and especially gardening. She was an avid traveler and visited places far and wide from Edmonton to the golden coasts of the Dominican to the elegant streets of Paris (France). Marilyn worked as a nurse at the North Bay Mother House; she held all of the Sisters and her Co-Workers dear to her heart. Marilyn enjoyed making jams, delicious apple sauces, and various preserves - that were enjoyed by her family and friends. She had a passion for scrapbooking and paper crafts, and would send her beautiful creations to friends and family alike. Marilyn took great pleasure in decorating her home for the festivities, where she would enjoy the holidays surrounded by friends and family over meals.
Family will be receiving friends at Hillside Funeral Services, 352 Airport Road, on Wednesday November 1st from 9 am to 11 am with her celebration of life to follow at 11 a.m.
Donations in her memory to the North Bay Regional Health Centre Foundation (Cancer Care) would be gratefully acknowledged by her family.
