It is with great sadness that the family of Russell MacLean announces his passing. Predeceased by his beloved wife, Jean (Jeanne D’Arc Amyot), Russell was a devoted and loving father to Pauline Latimer (Kevin), Brian McLean, and Tammy Morin (Greg). He was a cherished grandfather to Caitlyn Mayhew (Brandon), Thomas Latimer, Meghan Latimer, Evan Champagne (Robin), and Logan Morin, and a proud great-grandfather to Lydia and Carson.
Russell is survived by his siblings Donald MacLean, Gordon MacLean, Helen (Larry) Novack, and Debbie (James) Cripps. The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to his dear friend, Carol, for her unwavering support and kindness.
A hardworking truck driver, Russell found joy in the simple pleasures of life, especially spending time with his family and enjoying a good book. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff at Mattawa Hospital for their compassionate care, as well as to the residents of Rosemount Valley for their kindness and support.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Russell’s memory can be made to SickKids or the Canadian Lung Association.
A Visitation for Russell will be held on Friday, January 24, 2025, from 2:00pm-4:00pm & 7:00pm-9:00pm at the Martyn & Sloan Funeral Home in Mattawa. A Funeral Service will follow on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at 11:00am at the Martyn & Sloan Mattawa Chapel.
