Derek passed away at the North Bay Regional Health Centre on Friday, September 16, 2022 at the age of 69 years.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Pauline. Dear father to Kimberley (Henry), Burton and father figure to Edgar. Also survived by his siblings Colin (Melina) MacDonald, Marion (Ian) Mason and Ian Macdonald. Loving Grandfather to John, Adam, Henry Jr, Arizona, Logan, Burton Jr, Ava, Clark, Rylie and Ethan (D).
Derek was known to many people through his established, forty-year career with the Hudson’s Bay Company later known as The Northwest Company. He will be greatly missed by all who had known him.
The family is receiving friends at Hillside Funeral Services, 362 Airport Road in North Bay on Tuesday September 20, 2022 from 1pm until 3pm.
Donations to Toronto Sick Kids Hospital in Memory of Derek will be gratefully acknowledged by his family.
