He is survived by his brothers and sisters; Denis (Aby) Of Casselman, Guy of Limoges, Sylvie (René, deceased) of Timmins and Linda (Daniel) of St-Isidore. He also leaves behind nieces and nephews; Lauren Arsenault (Justin) of Casselman, Tanya Lessard, Matthieu Lessard, Mikel Lebrun and Cassandra Lebrun all of Timmins.
Roger was predeceased by his parents Laurent Lessard and Gloria (née Boucher) Lessard and also by his brother-in-law, René Boucher.
Roger was raised on a small farm just outside Iroquois Falls. Although this filled most of his time he was later employed by the Abitibi Pulp and Paper Mill. After graduating high school at IFSS, he studied civil engineering in Kirkland Lake then chose a career as a PSW in Sudbury, where he worked for more than 28 years. Roger enjoyed renovating his home, attending church and spending time outdoors, blueberry picking. As a PSW, Roger gave his time doing respite to help people with disabilities enjoy their life a little more.
The family will have a memorial in the spring of 2024 to be held in North Bay.
In lieu of flowers donations to Diabetes Canada would be greatly appreciated.
