Eulogy:
My sister was brave, courageous, thoughtful, and caring. She lived her life freely, as she pleased on her own terms. She was outspoken and always stood up for what she believed was right! She loved hard and I know she wanted to make an honest change. That’s the part that hurts me the most is her not being able to have that day, that chance to try again and prove everyone, including myself wrong. She was strong, resilient, and still is the coolest chick I know. That makes me one of the lucky ones, I get to look up and say that’s my sister, Jennifer Laverty. After all, we are half Irish so we are lucky and blessed to have a great dad who cares and who is not only a hardworking man but an amazing papa. So thank you, dad. We love you and Draven so much.
Jen’s life will not be in vain; her death will bring peace and love among us. After all, that’s what she would have wanted. Her legacy will live on though her son Draven Von, her little prince because as we all know, my sister was a queen who touched many hearts during her time on earth. Her smile, her grace, and her laugh gladdened the hearts of those who had the privilege of loving her. She was such a gem and will be dearly missed. Her “light up the room” type of smile is what I’m going to miss the most. I stand here at peace knowing she’s up above in a much better place and she can rest knowing we’ve got each other. We’re family, and family means forever no matter what.
I also take solace in knowing she was an earth angel guided to bring joy into the lives of those she cared for and loved. She was so down to earth and peaceful, she could be the calm before the storm or the eye of the storm; she had that ability and will continue to shine on from above the clouds. All we have to do is look up to the skies and feel the wind amongst our face. Jennifer loved camping and going on outdoor adventures, she played soccer, she loved fashion, and loved to read. She loved life and I hope we all chose to remember her this way and honor her by living our lives to the fullest. Thank you for being here today as we are celebrating a beautiful life. Always on my mind, forever in my heart. We love you Jen, rest easy girl.
