Wendy Irene Lachance (nee Bury) July 19, 1950 - July 17, 2023
After a five-year battle with Alzheimer’s Disease, Wendy passed away peacefully with her family at Eastholme Home for the Aged, July 17,2023.
Wendy was born in Oakville, Ontario. July 19, 1950, the eldest Child of Gord and Josephine Bury moving to North Bay in 1958. Wendy attended Dr. Carruthers, and Chippewa Secondary School, moving on to the Toronto Western Hospital School of Nursing; graduation class of 1972. After graduation Wendy went to work as RN in Cochrane, Ontario coming home often to visit her family who still lived in North Bay. During one of those visits she met a young man (Barry Lachance), at a local legion event, who stole her heart. They were married October 12, 1974 and shared a wonderful 48 years together. Once married Wendy and Barry settled and worked North Bay, having one child Daniel Gille Gordon Lachance; and continued to live in North Bay until moving to Eastholme Home for the Aged, in 2022.
Wendy will always be remembered as a quite sweet, caring woman, whom was passionate about reading, music and creating the most wondering crochet works.
Wendy has joined her father and mother (Gord & Jo Bury) and brother (Frank Bury), leaving behind her sister Joanne Bury, brother Tom Bury and sister Kelly Mixemong (Bury).
Wendy also is leaving behind her husband Barry Lachance, son Dan Lachance, daughter-in-law Sue Lachance, and the one person who she loved “all the Muches” her granddaughter Ashley Wendy Lachance.
There has been no confirmed date for Wendy’s Celebration of life at this time, but the family will communicative the event when able decisions have been made.
