KUNKEL, Eugene John

Accidentally, at his cottage on the South River, Eugene Kunkel died Wednesday, January 25, 2017. He was in his 83rd year. Eugene was the beloved husband of Yvonne (Dugas) of Powassan. He was the much loved father of Mark (Tracy) of Powassan, Anne of New Liskeard, Peter of Powassan, Rose of Sudbury, Sarah (Keith Crockford) of Powassan and the late Patrick (d. 1970). Grandpa will be lovingly remembered by grandchildren Jamie, Shawna, Dustin, Hailey and Natalie and great-grandson Hartley. Eugene was the dear brother of Theresa Aultman, Bernadette Harrington, Stephen and Ed Kunkel and was predeceased by his sisters Henrietta Humphrey, Helen Aultman, Betty Giesler and brothers Gerry, Vincent and Lawrence Kunkel. Eugene was a lifelong dairy farmer and avid outdoorsman. The Kunkel family will receive visitors at the Paul Funeral Home, Powassan, on Tuesday, January 31, 2017 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm. Vigil prayers at 8:45 pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at 11:00 am. at St. Joseph’s Church, Powassan.
