She passed away with her family by her side on Monday, January 27th, 2025, at Eastholme Home for the Aged; she was in her 88th year. Beloved wife of the late Klaus Max Jahn. Cherished mother of Michael Jahn (Susan) of North Bay and Richard Jahn (Leeann) of Barrie. She was the proud grandmother of Amber (Chris), Brooke, Oscar, and El. Dearly loved sister of Helga Severson (Dave). Doris was predeceased by her parents, Gottfried and Maria Höfer, and siblings, Ingrid (Walter) and Horst.
Klaus and Doris, a couple of remarkable resilience and vision, were united in marriage in Germany in 1958 and embarked on a journey that led them to Toronto that same year. They were a ‘power couple’ of their day, pioneering several ventures as entrepreneurs. Doris, a woman of unwavering faith, was a dedicated member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church in North Bay.
Family will receive friends at the Redeemer Lutheran Church (725 Ferguson St, North Bay, ON P1B 1X8) on Friday, January 31st, 2025, from 10:30 am until time for a memorial service at 11:30 am. Cremation has taken place at Forest Lawn Crematorium, and her ashes will be interred at the All Saints Mausoleum later. If desired, donations to the Redeemer Lutheran Church would be gratefully acknowledged as expressions of sympathy.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Eastholme. Their great care, kindness, respect, and compassion towards Doris during her time there will always be remembered and cherished.
