In loving memory of Richard Lloyd Harling who passed away after a long battle with Vascular Dementia on December 28, 2024, at the North Bay Regional Health Centre at the age of 71 years.

Richard will be forever missed by his wife Holly of 46 years, daughters Melanie (Al Montcalm) and Mandie Harling, as well as his son Charles- all of North Bay. Loving grandfather to Alexis, Landon and Lacey Desarmeau and Christian and Robert Montcalm. Richard is predeceased by his father, Lloyd Harling. He will be sadly missed by his mother Elaine Harling, brother David of Calgary AB, sisters Tammy Harling (Frank) of North Bay and Debbie Harling (Barry) of Beaverlodge AB, as well as many nieces nephews and cousins.

Richard was a past employee of the ONR for many years as a Maintenance of Way employee. His passions in life were working on cars, family BBQ’s and fire pits, hockey, NASCAR with his cousins, the magnificent 7 and curling with the boys. He was an avid NHL Boston Bruins fan as well as an NFL Dallas Cowboys fan. He also enjoyed travelling with family and friends.

The family appreciate the caring support of PSW’s Ivan, Frank and Michael and the staff on B3, along with Dr. Locke for her kind and compassionate care. We are so grateful that Richard in the last few years came to faith in Jesus Christ and is now in the arms of his Lord and Saviour.

A visitation will be held at Calvary Church, 271 Ski Club Rd on Saturday January 4th from 1 until 2 pm. A celebration of Richard’s life will follow at 2pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Calvary Church Missions or the Alzheimer's Society would be gratefully acknowledged by the family.
