It is with an immense amount of heartbreak that we share the peaceful passing of our beautiful and resilient little girl, Sofia Hazel Lynn Glass on Saturday, November 9th, 2024 at the tender age of 10.

She was born on an early, crisp Sunday morning, April 13th, 2014. Sofia leaves behind her loving parents, Jordan Lepkan and Corey Glass (Cassandra), her cherished siblings Tomas Wayne and Raelynn Marie, her favourite furry companion, Piper, and her adoring grandparents Tammy Pelland (Claude), Sean Lepkan (Andria), Sherry Tambeau (Ron), Brian Glass (Patti), Danny Pelland (Rosanne), and Kim Gies (Ed). Special great-granddaughter to Mary Lepkan, Gerry & Debbie Bouffard, Butch Wikiruk (Sherry), and Wayne & Mary Glass. Sofia was an exceptional niece to Bradley Pelland (Samantha), Erik Lepkan, Sarah Lepkan, Mitchell Glass (Dana), Brianne Glass, Melanie Ross (Adam), Paul Tambeau, Owen Mancari, Gregory Mancari, Olivia Mancari, as well as many other aunts and uncles. She will be sadly missed by her many cousins, friends, and her Godparents, Marina Moore & Theodore Liritzis. She was predeceased by her great-grandparents, Wayne Lepkan, William Whalley (Simone), Shirley Whalley and great-great-grandma Hazel Whalley.

Special Thank You to the following individuals who helped us navigate this journey with a little more ease, Jennifer Barker, Sofia’s EA, Cheryl Stewart Sofia’s teacher at St. Alexander School, and Susan Shoppoff, Respite Worker. As well, the Palliative Care Team at CHEO & Roger Neilson House, One Kids Place, NBRHC, the Ontario Rett Syndrome Association, and the many medical professionals and supports that have assisted throughout her journey with Rett Syndrome.

Sofia’s family encourage you to wear your favourite shade of purple in recognition of Rett Syndrome Awareness when you join them at MARTYN FUNERAL HOME (464 Wyld Street) on Wednesday, November 13th from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 7:00-9:00 pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, November 14th at 10:00 a.m. at the Pro-Cathedral of the Assumption. Interment will follow at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, a donation to One Kids Place would be gratefully acknowledged as expressions of sympathy. Online condolences may be left at www.martynfh.com.
