It is with heavy hearts that the family announces his passing at the North Bay Regional Health Centre on September, 10th 2018 at the age of 70. John was born is Listiquish, Quebec to Joseph Gideon and Margaret Marie Paul and stepson of Lucy Gideon all predeceased. He is survived by his long-time friend Jeanne McLeod. John is the loving father to Gloria McLeod, John Gideon and James Nanabush. Loving grandpa to Katrina, Cataleya and Phoenix (predeceased). Also survived by his siblings Theresa Sutton, Susan-Ann Gideon, Rose Gideon and Doris Nason. John was happiest when playing darts, listening to country music, fishing or when spending time with his beloved grandchildren. Family will be receiving friends at HILLSIDE FUNERAL SERVICES, 362 Airport Road in North Bay on Wednesday, September 12th from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm. Funeral service will be held at 2pm on Thursday September 13th at the funeral home. Donations can be made in John’s memory to the North Bay Regional Health Centre Foundation (Palliative Care) or to the Northern Cancer Foundation.
