It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our father who passed away peacefully at the Nipissing Manor on December 8, 2021, at the age of 95 years. Beloved husband of the late Beatrice (nee Giroux) Gauthier. Loving father to Madeleine Gauthier (Rejean) of North Bay, Dennis Gauthier (Sheila) of North Bay and Claude Gauthier (Barbara) of Elliot Lake. Cherished grandfather to Marc Gauthier (Christina), Alain Gauthier, Sandra Smith, Kerry Demotigny, Kevin Gauthier and Carol Bourque (Kyle). Great grandfather to Sarah Gauthier, Kaylee Renaud, Eric (Vanessa), Luc and Josée Gauthier, Justin and Nathan Smith, Tayler and Hudson Demontigny, Olivia and Leighton Bourque and great great grandson Sébastien Gauthier. Hector was predeceased by his parents Arthur and Elizabeth (nee Giroux) Gauthier and his sisters, Mathilda, Aldea, Annette, Pearl, Clara, and brothers Arthur, and Harvey.
Hector retired after 39 years at the Canadian Pacific Railway as a laborer and a carman. He enjoyed gardening, cribbage and time spent at Séguin beach with his loving wife.
The family will receive visitors at the McGuinty Funeral Home (North Bay)on Tuesday December 14, 2021, between the hours of 11am to 1pm followed by a funeral service in the McGuinty Funeral Home Chapel at 1pm. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. If desired donations are suggested to a Charity of your choice and would be gratefully acknowledged by the family.
