Dimmell, Franklyn
February 18, 1929 – April 17, 2019
Frank Dimmell was born at the onset of the Great Depression, a gentle soul from hard and humble times.
Born in Chapleau to Archibald Dimmell and Marguerite Cecile, Frank lived a joyful life, filled with many warm memories. A retired teacher, Frank loved his time in and out of the classroom coaching hockey and football.  He was an avid hockey player and fan, a social golfer (with a mean drive), and a keen connoisseur of blueberry pie. On a balmy, sunny Wednesday afternoon, Frank passed away in his sleep after an ongoing battle with cancer. He is affectionately remembered by his family; wife of 62 years, Rita (née Bessette); children Marianne, (André Bérubé), Karen Martin, and Peter (Louise McNaughton); grandchildren Alain (Laura) and Michelle (Adam) Bérubé, Heather Martin, and Katelyn, Marissa, and Elise Dimmell; and great-grandchildren Max, Nora, Jack, and Mark. Frank was predeceased by his parents and brother Art (Evelyn). He is survived by his sisters Elaine, (Sloan Watters -deceased) and Betty, (Jack Stevens -deceased).  Frank will be remembered for his determination, sense of humour, kind heart, and sharing his big smile with everyone. He and Rita spent many happy years in retirement travelling, playing golf and time with their family.
Special thanks to Dr. Jinnah, Dr. Dougall, the nurses in palliative care at NBRHC, and Tanya and Mike from Community Care Home Access.
Visitation will be held at HILLSIDE FUNERAL SERVICES, 362 Airport Rd, on April 29 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm.  A Celebration of Frank’s Life will take place April 30th at 2:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations to North Bay and Regional Health Centre would be greatly appreciated
