It is with great sadness, we announce the peaceful passing of Frances Desjardins on Sept. 19, at the age of 88.
Born on July 10, 1936, Francis lived a life full of love, laughter, and adventure. Frances was predeceased by her son Gregory (Gwen) and is survived by her son Pierre and daughter Anna-Marie (Tony). She is survived by her grandchildren, Shayna, Jayden (Andrew), Anthony (Meehan), Mackenzie and Madison as well as her great grandchildren Gage, Rogue, Arabella, Aviana and Amaya.
She is also survived by her stepchildren Kathy (Glen), Wendy (predeceased Peter), Rick (Shirley), Shari and Tim as well as their children. Family was at the centre of her heart. She adored her children and grandchildren and shared a deep bond with each of them.
Frances embraced life with enthusiasm, whether rollerblading, spending time at the YMCA or attending her TOPS meetings. You could often find Fran wandering the streets of North Bay as she loved to walk and share a word with those she passed by. One of her favourite places to unwind was her trailer at Camp Conewango, where she found peace and joy surrounded by nature and friends.
The family extends sincerest gratitude to the residents of St John’s Village who demonstrated enduring compassion and support to Frances over the years. Also, a heartfelt thanks to the nurses and support staff at B1 Willow at NBRHC who provided exceptional care and always treated Fran with respect and dignity. Thank you also to Dr. Locke who knew exactly what Fran needed and always kept her safe and cared for.
Frances will be remembered for her boundless energy, her joyful spirit, and the love she shared with everyone she met. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends, forever cherished.
