Jan. 6, 1963 - Oct. 20, 2024

Passed away suddenly at his home. He was in his 62nd year.

George was born in North Bay on Jan 6,1963 to Tony and Claudette dePencier. His three older sisters Sharon Binz (Peter), Wendy dePencier (Joan Graham) and Heather Straughan (Jim) were happy to greet him. His nose was put slightly out of joint by the arrival of his brothers Jamie and John (Cindy Schmitt) eight years later.

George loved his childhood and his many friends growing up in North Bay. He received his training as a heavy-duty mechanic during his time in the army and from Canadore College. He worked as a mechanic in Toronto and Sundridge.  Later he was a truck driver travelling across Canada and the United States. He finally settled down in North Bay where he worked at the ONR. He loved spending time with his large family, especially his nieces and nephews, Hans Peter, Darren, Scott, Alex, Nic, Lillian, Christopher, Charleigh, Cameron and Cayden, and will be very missed by his friends, for whom he would do anything.

George leaves his parents, his siblings and his much-loved children, Dillon dePencier, Rebecca dePencier and Destiny Blackwell to mourn his loss.

Donations to Alcoholics Anonymous, the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated.

A memorial service for George will be held at Trinity United Church on Saturday October 26 at 2pm. The service will be streamed online at youtube.com/@trinitynorthbay where it will remain for anyone who wishes to watch at a later date.

Condolences may be offered online at www.martynfh.com.
