March 17, 1944 – February 17, 2025
This family is saddened to announce the tragic passing of their beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Sister, Aunt and Friend. Diane will be lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
Diane, born in O’Leary, PEI to Frank and Olive Gallant, had many brothers and sisters. Family was important to Diane, whom she kept in close contact with, travelling, phone calls, and cards were shared with family over the years.
Diane moved to Toronto to live with sister Margaret (Fred), and this is where she met the love of her life Larry Davis, whom she married in 1964 and moved to Port Loring.
Diane and Larry had two sons, Steve (Heather) and Scott (deceased 2007). Diane’s love for her boys was felt by all who knew her and her loss will be felt for many years to come.
Other than the pride that Diane had for her sons, there was nothing like the pride that showed around Diane’s grandchildren. Diane adored and loved her Grandchildren Kayla (Tyler), Joey (deceased 2019), Danny and Casey (Shawn) and her Great-Grandchildren Keenan, Luca and Barrett. Diane was also very excited for the arrival of her newest grandson in July. Diane loved to joke and play tricks with all the kids and was a much loved and adored “Grannie”. Diane will be fondly remembered by Heather’s children Aleah, Gabe, and Emily, as well as Danny’s boys Cameron and Dominic; Diane loved them as her own grandchildren.
Larry and Diane created their dream home and property on Lovers Lane, mounting the house on a new foundation, and adding an addition to the kitchen where Diane loved to create family meals and often treated family to many of her delicious desserts.
Larry & Diane enjoyed their new property, spending many hours creating trails for their ATVs, snowmachines, cutting their winter’s wood, and feeding deer in the winter months. Wild honey was another special project from hives on their property. Diane enjoyed sharing honey with family and friends.
Diane was a lady of many passions, and one of her greatest passions were her gardens, whether it be flowers or vegetables. Diane took great pride in sharing the bounty of her works of labour, giving away fresh veggies to family and friends.
One of Diane’s proudest moments was achieving her commercial truck and bus driver’s licence. Diane loved her time driving bus and bonding with the students. She shared many laughs and stories telling of some of her adventures and student antics.
The family wish to thank everyone for their calls, cards and messages. Diane’s loss will be felt for Many years to come. Her family will celebrate her life privately, no public services will be held.
Should you wish to make a donation in memory of Diane, Loring Community Cemetery is suggested.
