Peacefully passed away surrounded by the love of his family at Health Sciences North (Sudbury) on Sunday July 7, 2024, at the age of 84 years. Clarence was the beloved husband of the late Kathleen (nee Young). He was the loving father of Angel Cooper (late John Pigeau), late Katherine Deschene (Dino), David Cooper JR (Sylvie), late Kirk Cooper, late Norman Cooper, Rose Cooper, Bryan Young-Cooper( Misty) and late Cory Young-Cooper (Julie-Jenn). Stepdad to Cheryl Young (Ernest), Chris Young (Karrie), Shawn Young (Jennifer), Steven Young, Valerie Young (Randy) and James Young (Abigail).
He will always be remembered by his brothers Ron Cooper (Claudette) and Ray Cooper (Doris). He is predeceased by his parents Clarence Cooper SR (Angie) and Blanche Bigras.
Grandpa-Papa will be missed by his 43 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Clarence lived his life to the fullest, with kindness, generosity and a handshake or hug and a smile for everyone he met along the way. He took great comfort with Peanut and Foxy his and Kathleen’s Chihuahua after Kathleen’s passing in 2010.
The family would like to thank the nurses, doctors and PSWs on 7 and 8 North of Health Sciences North (Sudbury) for their care, kindness and support in dad’s final days. Also Extendicare York where dad called home for the last year. As per Clarence’s wishes cremation has taken place. The family will be receiving visitors at McGuinty Funeral Home Ltd. (North Bay) on Saturday July 27, 2024, from 10 a.m. till time of service at 11 a.m. in the McGuinty Funeral Home Ltd. Chapel. If desired donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be gratefully acknowledged by Clarence’s family.
