(28 June 1955 – 17 May 2021)
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dale Chenette on 17 May 2021 at the age of 65 after a long, tenacious and graceful battle with cancer. Dale was surrounded by his adoring wife and loving sons as he passed peacefully at his home in Corbeil, Ontario.
He is survived by his loving wife Fara, of 47 years, and their three sons, affectionately known as the wrecking crew, Derek (Marilynn), Jeff (Melissa) and Brad (Katelyn). He will also be lovingly remembered by his siblings Terry (wife Erlene), Linda (husband John), Janice (husband Rick) and Natalie (partner Jeff).
Grandpa will be incredibly missed by his 6 grand children Tyler, Briana, Emily, Jaida, Kyla and Evelyn. He absolutely adored those kids and they will forever cherish the years they got to spend with “action grandpa”.
Dale will be remembered for his sense of humour, his work ethic, his wisdom and his absolute devotion to family. It meant everything to him.
Dale was a highly respected leader within Stations Maintenance of Hydro One and retired in 2015 after 28 years of outstanding service. He loved politics, his Leafs, laughing and telling stories, but most of all, he loved his family. He was our compass and he will be truly missed by all who knew him.
The family would like to thank the doctors at the Cancer Center in Sudbury, ON for giving us more time with our father and to the team of health care professionals in North Bay for their outstanding medical care and for their compassion.
In memory of Dale, donations can be made to the Nipissing Serenity Hospice. A virtual memorial service will be held on Saturday, 22 May at 7:00 PM. For more information on joining the virtual memorial service please contact the funeral home.
