In loving memory of
CHELLEW: Paul Jonathan

Paul passed away peacefully in his sleep at the age of 89 on December 19, 2024, after a brief stay in the North Bay Regional Hospital, with family at his bedside. Paul was born in Sturgeon Falls, ON and was one of seventeen children.

Paul is survived by his wife of 68 years, Delores (Buhr) and siblings Colin and Ross. Paul was predeceased by his parents Alvin and Vera. Siblings Mina, Bill, Kay, Helen, Evan, Alvin, Eric, Ivan, Daniel, Richard, Peter, Ida Mae, Brian and Roger.

Paul was well known in his community through years of having played and coached hockey. He was a competitive fastball pitcher and would often tell stories about his time playing ball. He exemplified the true meaning of hard work through his everyday life and 35 years of dedicated service in the Canadian Armed Forces.

Paul was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was happiest surrounded by his family, and nothing brought him more joy than watching his family grow-up and achieve their goals. Paul could be found at the Farmer's Market on Saturdays telling vendors of all the things his grandchildren were up to and showing off his great-grandchildren.

Paul is survived by his four children John (Brenda), Diana (Jerry), Joann (Willie) and Susan (Carl); his grandchildren Bob (Maureen), Leyna, Brianna (Barend), Bryce (Alyssa), Kaitlyn (Quinn), Elizabeth and Charlotte; and his great-grandchildren George, Joseph, Jamieson, Scarlett, Lydia, Aurora, CJ and Poppy.

The family would like to give a special thanks to the incredible staff at North Bay Regional Hospital who have provided exceptional and compassionate care for Paul over this last year.

There will be no services upon Paul's wishes. In lieu of flowers, please donate to North Bay Regional Hospital.
