Friends and family are invited to gather for a toast to Kirk on Saturday, September 21, 2024, from 2:00pm-5:00pm at the Fox & Fiddle (112 Spencer Ave, North Bay, ON)

Kirk passed away peacefully in his wife’s arms on Friday, July 12th, in North Bay.

He will be deeply missed by his wife Chris, his dog Holly, and friends too numerous to count, many of whom esteemed Kirk as their best friend.

Predeceased by his parents, Jim and Gwen Taylor, and in-laws Thom and Joan Patterson. He is survived by his wife Chris, his sister Darlene, and his niece Jasmine.

Also loved and missed by Chris’s family: Larry and Colleen, Steve and Cathy, Jen, Emily, Jeff, and Leah; Coleen and Dave, Eric, Beth, Claire, and Tommy.

Never did a man walk this earth who was a more devoted husband, a truer friend, and a more exuberant personality who could fill a room with his conversation, wit, and companionship. He loved people, he loved his dogs, and they loved him back.

Never was there a harder worker. Kirk never gave 100% to anything he did, it was always 110%.

A consummate, multitalented craftsman, there were few skills he hadn’t mastered during his years an a railroader, a semi driver, and for the last 30 years as a building contractor. His beautiful home in the country is a testament to his adeptness, vision, and drive.

Kirk was known for his indefatigable nature. He was a perpetual motion machine, never quitting, always digging in to front the next challenge. His hunting buddies, his fishing pals, and his workmates recognized and appreciated his contributions and efforts, once again in the range of 110% or more. His buddies always joked that he ran on natural gas, but we all know it was much more than that. He just loved life so much.

Kirk spent the last six years fiercely battling Multiple Myeloma, by the side of his wife, Chris, who was the love of his life. Together, they challenged this foe, and never gave in, refusing defeat. It was a very long haul which they met with strength and resolve, but in the end he was sideswiped by Covid. He left us gracefully, and on his own terms.

The family would like to thank HSN’s Dr. Herst, and his amazing team. Also, the North Bay Chemo Dept., and CCU. Your care of Kirk is so much appreciated.

Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, or All Heart Pet rescue in Powassan would be smiled upon by Kirk, from wherever he may be…
