Peacefully passed away surrounded by the love of her family at the North Bay Regional Health Centre on Monday December 16, 2024, after battling cancer. She was 66 years old. Thérèse is predeceased by her parents Emile and Laurette Boudreau. She was the loving sister to Carol Lafrance (Daniel), Pierre Boudreau (Christine), Emile Boudreau Jr. (Lise), and Daniel Boudreau (Sharon). Thérèse was the cherished aunt to Pascal, Martin, Nick, Jackie, Julianne, Sarah, and Sabrina and the proud great aunt to Éva, William, Mila and Élisabeth. Family was everything to Thérèse and she will be lovingly remembered by her many Boudreau and Hébert cousins and for the active role she played in helping organize family reunions. She also had a close group of loyal friends in North Bay that she considered family, they will miss her dearly.
Thérèse dedicated her work life to helping others. She began her career as a nurse working in North Bay, Temiskaming, Ottawa and London. She moved back to North Bay the 1990s and entered the education field. Thérèse took great pride in her role as an Educational Assistant at École public Héritage working closely with children with special needs whom she lovingly referred to as ‘my kids’. She was also a First Aid instructor and provided crisis support as a volunteer at Victim Services of Nipissing District for many years.
The family thanks all the doctors, nurses and health care workers for the incredible support and compassion they provided during her illness.
As per Thérèse’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and there will not be a service. Her ashes will be placed next to her parents. A celebration of her life will occur later. If desired, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be gratefully acknowledged by her family. Online condolences can be made www.mcguintyfuneralhome.com
