It is with broken hearts the family announces the passing of our beloved Daniela (Bitonti- Rochon), she passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Saturday July 20th, at the age of 46.

Daniela was the adored wife of Yves Rochon and the proud and loving mother to Tristan and Mateo Rochon and her furry companion Rockey.

Treasured daughter to Renato and Francine Bitonti (Germain) and the cherished big sister to Francesco Bitonti (Tarron), Cristina Bitonti and sister in law Josee Rochon (Kendall Benoit). She is the beloved daughter in law to the late Maurice Rochon and Denise Rochon (Tanguay). She was an incredible “Ma Tante” to Jeanika, Leah and Kaden and “Zia Lala” to Avani and Luca.

Daniela was blessed with a large extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends that will miss her dearly.  She brought warmth and joy to everyone, she truly was one of a kind.

She was born and raised in North Bay, Ontario. She grew up learning the meaning and value of family traditions which she embraced and carried forward instilling in her own family with Yves and her boys.

She was known for being a passionate and competitive soccer player that always tuned in to cheer on Papa’s favorite team.

Daniela pursued a degree in Kinesiology at the University of Ottawa where she also met the love of her life Yves, where they enjoyed many years living in Ottawa together. They eventually were drawn back to her hometown roots of North Bay where they began their family and she completed her teaching degree.  Beyond her career as a teacher she was a very devoted mother and wife.  She took incredible pride and joy in providing for her family and raising her boys. This is where you knew she was the happiest, it completed her.

Daniela never let her diagnosis with breast cancer define her, she battled courageously demonstrating strength and resilience beyond what was comprehensible.

Not a day will go by that we won’t think of you, we will love you endlessly, you have changed all of our lives forever and because we knew you, we are better. Thank you for being so much to so many people, you will never be forgotten. Your light will always shine bright within us

The family would like to extend their gratitude to the remarkably supportive medical community at the NBRHC, in particular Dr Jinnah and Natalie Thompson.

The family will be receiving visitors at McGuinty funeral home on Sunday July 28th from 2pm to 4pm and 6pm to 8pm. A memorial mass will be held at the Pro Cathedral of the Assumption at 10 am on Monday July 29th, 2024.  In Lieu of Flowers, donations to the NBRHC Foundation would be greatly appreciated. www.nbrhcfoundation.ca/memorial/ Online condolences can be made at www.mcguintyfuneralhome.com
