Harvey Anderson died unexpectedly, having spent Christmas with family, on Monday, December 25, 2023, at the age of 76. He was the much-loved father of Christine Popkie (Edward) of Haileybury, Janet Yemm (Owen) of Callander and Mark Anderson (Jessica) of Callander. He will be lovingly remembered by grandchildren: Robert, Jenna, Megan (Dylan), Owen, Payton, Cole, Mitchell, Aubrey, and great granddaughters Addison and Madelyn. Harvey was predeceased by his parents Clara (Peever) and Robert Anderson, and his siblings George, Ken (Fern), William “Bud” (Virginia D.) Cecil (Gail, D.), Gordon Anderson (Mary-Anne), Myrtle Celinski (Stanley, D.). He is survived by his sisters Dorothy Jones (Gordon, D.) of Whitby, Stella Anderson of Vincennes, Indiana, Bertha Presley (Fred, D.) of Ottawa, Ermnie Loxton (Harold, D.), Iris Loxton (Clinton) and Gloria Aultman (Leonard), all of Powassan. He was also predeceased by his former wife Carol (Larondeau) Anderson. Harvey was retired from the ONR where he worked his entire career in the wheelhouse and as a diesel train mechanic. Cremation has taken place.
A graveside service and burial of ashes will be held at 10:30 am Saturday, September 21, 2024 at Powassan Union Cemetery (please arrive for 10:15 am). Casual dress, jeans would be appropriate. Coffee and light refreshments to follow at the Wesleyan Church, 204 Big Bend Ave., Powassan. Should you wish, memorial donations to Heart & Stroke Foundation, or Sick Kids’ Hospital are suggested.
