I was raised in a family of 8 children. We all inherited my parents’ strong work ethics and values. Growing up we were taught to treat others with respect, have integrity, be honest, motivated, responsible, reliable, committed and a team player. These values were strongly instilled in me and I strive to apply them in everything I do.
After my post secondary education, I was fortunate to find employment in my hometown. I worked at Lee Jeans as a pattern maker. Seven years later the plant closed and my business Création Unique was born. I created employment for others and myself while providing a high level of customer service that sustained itself for 22 years. I sold the business and became a national freelance sewing educator where I travelled across the country teaching clients and business owners.
Over the past 50 years, I've had the privilege of volunteering for various clubs and boards. I was a certified swimming instructor teaching swimming at all levels, served as a board member and treasurer for the YMCA and served on the organizing committee for the YMCA Strong Kids campaign. For 14 years I served as a board member for Caisse Populaire North Bay and for 4 years I served on l’Alliance des Caisses Populaires de l’Ontario as a board director. I have also volunteered for organizations such as North Bay Triathlon, North Bay SCUBA Club, North Bay Ice Breakers Sledge Hockey Team, the Royal Life Saving Society and the Red Cross aquatics branch.
Once elected to City Council, I will bring a fresh perspective, attend and be prepared for all meetings as well as listen, understand and make educated decisions. I will work for the greater good of North Bay, be transparent, act with integrity, be open to all perspectives and work as a team member.
I have a proven track record of dedication and commitment. I have the time, energy and passion to serve our City. My priorities include infrastructure growth and development, fostering the health and wellbeing of our community, working cooperatively with members of council and the community and working towards growing the economy of our city.
