Background:
George Maroosis follows his grandfather and father and uncles as a North Bay businessmen. The Maroosis Family has been in business for over 100 years in North Bay.
George has over 30 years experience as a City Councillor and in the Community. The list includes the Nipissing District Social Services Administration Board, the Crisis Centre, LIPI, Cassellholme Home, the Health Unit, the North Bay Waterfront Advisory Committee, North Bay & District Chamber of Commerce, Ontario Chamber of Commerce… and others.

Platform:
- Provide positive leadership to the new Council
- Work with the Council to engage the community to establish a positive attitude to promote growth and investment.
- Council must implement the Baylor Report and become more engaged with our Economic Development Department and assist them to keep in touch with and help our established businesses prosper and expand.

- Provide affordable core municipal services. Our services must continue to meet the standards of best practices which include environmental and safety considerations.
- Review the way Council does business that includes our Committee structure and public engagement.
- Create a multi year operating budget process so we can better plan to keep taxes and user fees affordable.
