Slew of charges as ATV sideswipes another vehicle

On June 12, shortly before 5 p.m., a West Parry Sound OPP officer responded to a report of a possible impaired driver, driving a Utility-Terrain Vehicle (UTV) in Seguin Township.

The UTV sideswiped a vehicle on Hekkla Road in Muskoka Lakes Township. The officer located the vehicle and spoke with to the driver and determined that he had consumed alcohol.  

Ronald Rowe, 49.from Muskoka Lakes Township, was arrested and charged with:  

  • Driving motor vehicle while ability impaired by alcohol, 
  • Dangerous operation of motor vehicle,
  • Drive while disqualified - court order contrary, X 6,
  • Fail to provide sample 
  • Drive while under suspension, 
  • Drive off road vehicle - no number plate,
  • Drive off road vehicle - no insurance, and
  • Fail to wear proper helmet, 

The driver was held for bail and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Parry Sound.
