Just as Armed Forces Appreciation Day will be held at the North Bay waterfront in front of a live crowd for the first time in three years, the City of North Bay's Canada Day festivities will also be celebrated as an in-person event this July 1.
The O’Canada Day committee is planning a family-friendly day with various activities including:
- daytime musical entertainment
- a multicultural showcase
- carousel and train rides
- Canada Day KidZone
- children’s entertainment
- museum exhibit
- vendors
- evening musical entertainment
- a fireworks display and cruise
The events will begin at approximately 11 a.m. and conclude at approximately 11 p.m. Organizers have requested a noise by-law exemption as a precautionary measure in the event the entertainment or fireworks run late. The noise exemption request is on North Bay City Council's agenda for their Tuesday meeting.
The City of North Bay expects over 7,000 participants and attendees. Memorial Drive will be closed to the public from 7 p.m. until 11 p.m. on Friday, July 1.
