The North Bay YMCA announced on Friday that it will be reopening its pool that has been closed since April.

"We can't wait to welcome you back to the pool," YMCA Northeastern Ontario officials stated via an email to members.

Swimmers can view the schedule online here.

"At this time, we will only be offering limited programming. Swim lessons will continue to be offered outdoors at Big Moose Beach in East Ferris. You can register online here.

"We will not be offering swimming lessons at the Chippewa location until the fall."

The YMCA says they will expand offerings in the coming weeks as they get more staff trained.

The pool will have limited capacity to allow for physical distancing.

Registration is required for all pool programming and can be done through our online member portal

Masks must be worn in change rooms and on deck. Masks can only be removed in the water.

"There will be buckets available on deck so you can place your personal belongings," the release added.

Anyone with questions can call 705-497-9622 ext. 228.
