A neighbourhood tradition unfolded on Saturday afternoon as more than 25 enthusiastic area residents, young and old, put on their finest water proof duds to take part in the 5th annual Bud Laporte Memorial Waterfight.
The fun filled neighbourhood water war kicked off shortly after 1 pm on Saturday and lasted just over an hour.
The event is organized to honour Bud Laporte, a Pinewood area resident who was considered the Water Fight King of North Bay.
He passed away fiver years ago and the event is organized on his birthday every year to honour him.
At the end of the event, participants picked up all the broken water balloon pieces and celebrated another soaking event with popsicles.
