The City of North Bay says travellers should consider adding extra time to their schedule or taking an alternate route while this work is underway as the intersection at Mountainview Drive will be closed indefinitely, with traffic detoured to Lakeside Drive. Additionally, the eastbound lanes on the south side of Trout Lake Road within this stretch will be closed, with traffic reduced to a single lane in each direction.
The project includes the pulverizing and paving of the roadway, the addition of bike lanes and a new sidewalk from Mountainview Drive to Lakeside Drive. The portion of roadway fronting Average Joe’s will be reconstructed with a new storm sewer system and all existing guide rail systems will be replaced.
The work is slated for completion by October. Various traffic controls will be implemented and communicated throughout the duration of the project.
The City of North Bay thanks residents for their patience while this infrastructure project is completed.
