A winter storm warning continues this morning withe an additional 5 cm of snow possible, although the worst is over. The storm will taper off this afternoon.

Expect poor visibility in areas of heavy snow and blowing snow with hazardous travel conditions.

Northeast winds gusting up to 60 km/h will result in areas of blowing snow giving poor visibility at times. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow. Visibility will be suddenly reduced to near zero at times in heavy snow and blowing snow.

Poor weather conditions may contribute to transportation delays. If visibility is reduced while driving, slow down, watch for tail lights ahead and be prepared to stop.

A winter storm warning is still in effect for:

  • North Bay - West Nipissing
  • Powassan - Mattawa
  • Sudbury
  • Kirkland Lake - Temiskaming Shores - Temagami
