Vic Fedeli admitted there was no time to waste, and he had to get back to work right away after his election victory on February 27 where the PC candidate garnered 55 per cent of the vote in Nipissing.
The experienced politician who secured his fifth term as Nipissing MPP has been the Minister of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade since 2019 at Queen's Park.
But will he slide back into that role when the new cabinet is announced? Fedeli seems confident that he will.
"I am the minister of economic development, job creation and in trade until a new minister is appointed," said Fedeli during his post-election media conference. "So that's why I'm going to Toronto tomorrow," he added Thursday night.
"That's why I joined the premier in Washington. I think my record provincially is certainly one that the Premier is excited about."
But Fedeli realizes that will be Doug Ford's call. "He's the coach of the team and he moves the players around," he said. "I know it better than anybody. so I'll wait for the call."

Fedeli expects to find out officially in mid-March what his role will be and if he continues on as minister of economic development, job creation, and trade.
"That is when I suspect he will put his new cabinet together," said Fedeli.
"I will be honoured to be invited to join it if I am."
