North Bay Fire Department crews responded to a garage fire at 301 Widdifield Station Road Saturday morning.

Chief Fire Prevention Officer Randy Vezina says the call came in at 11:28 AM and firefighters were on the scene a short time after.

“Two stations responded and pump #2 did the attack on the garage,” he explains.

Vezina adds that the fire was contained to the basement level and that the damage is at least $60,000.

“There was a snow machine in the garage but it didn’t have a battery or source of ignition so we are continuing to look at sources.”

“While we are still investigating the source of the fire we don’t consider the incident suspicious,” he says.

“There was a great amount of suet and heat damage to the area as well as to a couple of cars.”

No one was injured.
