West Nipissing prepares multiple Remembrance Day ceremonies

The Municipality of West Nipissing prepares for two days of Remembrance Day ceremonies

Remembrance Day ceremonies began last Saturday in West Nipissing, with a service held at the Cache Bay Cenotaph in Cache Bay. However, there are more to come this Friday and Saturday.

Note that the Municipal Office in Sturgeon Falls and the Sturgeon Falls Landfill will be closed on Friday November 10. The Recreation Centre Pool in Sturgeon Falls and the Fitness Centres in both Sturgeon Falls and Verner will be closed November 10 and November 11.

On Friday, November 10 at 10:45 a.m., a ceremony will be held in Verner at École élémentaire catholique Ste-Marguerite-d’Youville at 73 Principale Street in Verner. Also on Friday, River Valley is hosting a service at the River Valley Cenotaph. This begins at 10 a.m. at the intersection of Highway 539A and Forget Avenue, next to the original township sign, organizers added.

On Remembrance Day proper, November 11, a service will be held at the Sturgeon Falls Cenotaph, at 201 River Street in Sturgeon Falls – Legion Branch 225. The ceremony begins at 11 a.m.

Also on Saturday, Kipling is holding a ceremony at the Sunnyridge Cenotaph, at the Sunnyridge Cemetery, which is located at 238 Sunnyridge Road. The ceremony begins at 11 a.m.
