Weather won’t be kind

'North Bay will be right in that battle zone between air masses which usually results in a mess, unfortunately'

If you did not like the weather last week, then maybe you should book a vacation to the sunny south this weekend.

That’s because according to Canada’s Weather Network, the weather will become very January like this weekend rolling into Monday.

“Looks like mainly snow until the late part of the weekend and looking at Sunday overnight into Monday is when you can really start seeing a mess of snow changing over to freezing rain and then some rain and then Monday through the day the cold air rushes back in and another shot of snow for you guys,” said Brad Rousseau, a meteorologist with Canada’s Weather Network.

“Looks like it could be a significant amount of snow accumulation during the weekend. A broad range right now it could be anywhere from 10 to 25 cm but it is a tricky forecast.”

Rousseau says much of Ontario will be dealing with miserable winter-like conditions but North Bay may be hit the hardest.

“You guys will be right in that battle zone between air masses which usually results in a mess, unfortunately,” said Rousseau.

Rousseau says winter just does not seem to want to let go.

“It is something we expected would take place but it is certainly taking its sweet time getting out and what has happened is this upper-level low is anchored over the central and eastern part of Canada pretty much,” he said.

Rousseau says North Bay should expect a build-up to the weekend mess with some quick passing systems offering up some snow but nothing significant.
