There is a freezing rain warning and special weather statement in effect for our area this morning.
Freezing rain is expected or occurring with 1 to 2 mm accumulations possible. As temperatures rise above the freezing mark, all precipitation will change to rain. Surfaces like highways, roads, walkways, and parking lots may become icy and slippery.
As the day wears on, rainfall, combined with melting snow, will create problems. The frozen ground has a reduced ability to absorb this rainfall.
Rain, heavy at times, and mild temperatures are expected. Localized flooding in low-lying areas and water pooling on roads is possible.

Expect rapidly falling temperatures, strong winds, snow and local blowing snow on Thursday. Rainfall amounts of 15 to 25 mm. Locally higher amounts possible.
Rapidly falling temperatures with rain changing to snow will result in surfaces becoming icy and slippery. There will be reduced visibility in snow and local blowing snow. Expect lotal snowfall accumulations of 5 to 10 cm.
So expect rain through this evening with rapidly falling temperatures, snow and local blowing snow Thursday morning to early Thursday evening.
