Elusive fugitive Marc Gauthier, wanted on a Canada-wide warrant, is still loose in the city.
"At this time Gauthier has not yet been located," says a police news release. "We have no reason to believe that he has left the City of North Bay. Police believe that he does not currently have access to a vehicle and is likely trying to flee the area."
Members of the public should practice caution as they go about their daily activities advise police.
"It is recommended that you be aware of your surroundings and keep vehicles and buildings locked as a precaution. However, police are not advising a lockdown or shelter-in-place at this time. You can continue to travel throughout the city as normal."
Gauthier is described as:
- White
- Male
- Bald
- May be cleanly shaven
- 54 years old
- Approximately 5'8" tall
- Approximately 160 lbs
- Last seen wearing jeans and a black t-shirt with a white logo on the back
At 4:30 p.m. yesterday Gauthier fled police on foot after police stopped a vehicle on Fisher Street. It is believed he was headed to the downtown core.
Police say the alert will remain in effect until he has been apprehended.
