The Walk for Alzheimer's was held on a rainy May 25 in North Bay.

Despite the rainy weather, over 70 dedicated participants gathered at the Alzheimer Society office on King Street in North Bay on Saturday, May 25 for the annual IG Wealth Management Walk for Alzheimer's.

Organizers say the "community's effort and commitment shone through as we raised just under $60,000. North Bay and the surrounding districts contributed a significant portion of this total, raising $23,925."

This event supports the Alzheimer Society of Sudbury-Manitoulin North Bay and Districts. Funds raised directly support the Alzheimer Society of Sudbury-Manitoulin, North Bay, and Districts' programs and services. Every dollar raised remains in the local communities, aiding those living with dementia and their families.

The Alzheimer Society of Sudbury-Manitoulin, North Bay, and Districts is committed to enhancing the quality of life for individuals affected by Alzheimer's disease and other dementias, as well as supporting their families and caregivers through education, resources, and community programs.

Leading the way in team fundraising was The Lunch Bunch, led by captain Cathy Hogan, who together raised an impressive $5,820. The top individual fundraiser was Clayton Lovegrove, who gathered a remarkable $2,605 in donations. We would also like to give a special shout-out to Janice Dupuis, who has
devoted countless hours to raising money for our cause over many years.

"We are immensely grateful to our sponsors, donors, volunteers, staff, clients, and corporate partners for their support," said Caroline Piquette, marketing and communications at the Alzheimer Society of Sudbury-Manitoulin North Bay and Districts. "Their generosity ensures that we can continue to provide
essential services and programs to our local community."

Piquette also saluted local sponsor Canadore College for its "invaluable contribution" and extended gratitude to national sponsor IG Wealth Management for its "amazing support," noting the North Bay Wealth Management office goes above and beyond its responsibilities, providing exceptional support in the planning and execution of the event. A special thanks to Mark Webster for his active involvement in our cause."
