Voyageur Days tops when it comes to festivals

Mattawa Voyageur Days Committee was very pleased to be named as one of the TOP100 Festivals and Events in Ontario for 2009.

"The Committee has worked very hard over the years in planning and organizing a top knotch festival. It
certainly is an honour to be recognized by our Provincial Association that we meet their high standards and that they also recognize the efforts by the Committee," says Jacques Begin Co-Chair Mattawa Voyageur Days.

There are over 2,500 festivals and events held in Ontario annually making this TOP100 recognition an even bigger honour. The Committee is quick to point out that the success of the festival is due to all those who attend and support the events and activities. The Committee also thanks all those who sponsor Voyageur Days.

"We also have tremendous support from our Mayor Dean Backer and Members of Council who permit the Committee to carry out the vast multitude of tasks and responsibilities it takes to host such a huge endevour" say Jacques. "Most of all, it is the people. The people who come out and enjoy the activities, attend the various shows, shop in our stores and eat in our restaurants and just plain kick
back and totally enjoy themselves. This is truly THEIR festival."

Mattawa Voyageur Days 2009 will be a very special year indeed with a very high level of musical entertainment as well a multitude of activities throughout the whole community. The Corporation Town of Mattawa is also celebrating its 125th Anniversary in 2009.
