A 45-year-old Sturgeon Falls man and a 23-year-old woman of no fixed address are facing multiple drug and weapons charges relating to a recent police drug warrant.
On November 4, 2021, at 10:25 p.m., members of the Nipissing West Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) attended an apartment on Main Street in West Nipissing to execute a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) warrant.
The OPP's Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) and Nipissing West uniform members were involved with the investigation.
As a result of the warrant being executed, OPP say they seized two stolen firearms, three stolen bicycles, and three cell phones.
In addition, police seized numerous drug-related paraphernalia items, over 240 grams of suspected Fentanyl, over 77 grams of suspected Heroin, almost 40 grams of suspected Cocaine, numerous suspected Hydromorphone capsules, almost 20 grams of suspected Crystal Methamphetamine, and almost 260 Methamphetamine Speed tablets.
The estimated street value of the drugs was approximately $113,000.
Two people inside the residence were arrested and charged.
Jean Claude Phillippe, 45 years-old, of Sturgeon Falls, was charged with:
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking - Fentanyl, contrary to section 5(2) of the CDSA
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking - Cocaine, contrary to section 5(2) of the CDSA
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking - Other Drugs, contrary to section 5(2) of the CDSA
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking - Methamphetamine, contrary to section 5(2) of the CDSA
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking - Heroin, contrary to section 5(2) of the CDSA,
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000 (Two Counts), contrary to section 354(1)(a) of the Criminal Code (CC)
- Unauthorized Possession of a Weapon, contrary to section 91(2) of the CC
- Breach of Firearms Regulations, contrary to section 86(2) of the CC
- Possession of a Firearm Contrary to Prohibition Order, contrary to section 117.01(1) of the CC
The accused was scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice Bail Court in West Nipissing on November 5, 2021.
Kristina Crockett, 23 years old, of no fixed address, was charged with:
Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking - Methamphetamine, contrary to section 5(2) of the CDSA and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in West Nipissing on December 2, 2021.
