On September 28, 2022, Trout Creek Senior Living opened its doors.
Nearly four months later, officials say they have only three residents with another twelve that had to be rejected due to the fact they required a Long-Term Care Home.
Belisha Ke is the chief operating officer for Dynamic Health Management Inc. which is operating the Trout Creek senior living facility in the old Lady Isabelle building which closed in 2017.

Ke says they have applied to help fill those beds by becoming a Long Term Care Home to the Ministry of Health of LTC and Ontario Health, seeking for temporary license as a Long Term Care Home. At this time, Ke had proceeded to apply for retirement license through Retirement Home Regulatory Authority (RHRA).
"We have come this far and we are still waiting and jumping through hoops with the Ministry of Health, Ontario Health, to get us approved," she said.
"We have been actively maintaining and surpassing the compliance standards which includes Public Health, Ministry of Labour. We have submitted two applications. We have submitted for Long Term Care in 2021 and recently we had to submit a retirement application last year. In Trout Creek and in the northern region there is a high focus on seniors, particularly with lower income. They require and need quality care and services.
"At this point, I do not know how we can pivot. We are requesting for the Ministry of Health Long Term Care to approve our application as well as Dynamic Health Management as a management company."
Ke notes that they are a new company that was created in 2021.
"We have been working on our policies and many of us have the background in long term care," she said.
She says they were hoping to fill 50 to 75 per cent of the 49 beds at the Trout Creek facility. Right now Ke feels they cannot do that.
"Trout Creek Senior Living is ready for even a temporary license of 49 beds through the Ministry of Health Long Term Care and we are hoping to get that approved by the Ministry as well as help the community fulfill the long wait list that can be seen online," she said.
Dynamic Health Management is anticipated to operate a new long term facility that is expected to be built nearby in Trout Creek.
"Across the parking lot there are about 4 acres of property that we are hoping to build the long term care," said Ke.
"We have submitted the statement of readiness to the Ministry as per their request and to date we have not received a response from them."
Ke is hoping for that response sooner than later.
