At 12:30 p.m. firefighters were still trying to extinguish the blaze created when two transport trucks collided on Highway 11 around 9 a.m. today near Marten River.
Roads were reported to be slushy at the time.
It's unconfirmed but one truck appears to have been carrying diesel fuel. Emergency personnel on scene told BayToday the flames reached as high as 400 feet.
A firefighter says one person was killed in the crash.

A major accident just north of Marten River at Tonomo Lake road this morning has closed the highway. There is no detour available.
BayToday reporter Chris Dawson is on the scene and says transports are backed up for about five kilometres in the northbound lane near Pan Lake where the accident occurred.
Cars are being stopped at the intersection of Highway 11 and Highway 64, the Verner turnoff. Cars are also being stopped at the Husky on top of Thibeault Hill in North Bay.
Highway 11 is blocked and may be closed for up to 12 hours.
Witnesses say there is a lot of smoke and is apparently a multi-transport collision.
The crash occurred at about 9 a.m.
OPP report that two transports collided and there was a fatality.
