Updated with charge Transport goes into Angus Lake

The driver of a transport lost control and went off Highway 11 and into Angus Lake

Update Monday 4:15 p.m.

On September 9, shortly before 7 a.m., members of the Temiskaming Detachment of the OPP, Temagami Fire Department and Nipissing District Emergency Medical Service responded to a call about an accident on Highway 11 north near Rabbit Lake Road, south of Temagami.

Further investigation revealed that the tractor-trailer had been travelling southbound on Highway 11, and the driver lost control. The tractor-trailer ended up in Angus Lake.

The highway had to be closed in both directions as a result of live hydro lines that were on the roadway.

Simranjeet Sandhu, 39, of Brampton, is charged with:

  • Fail to drive in the marked lane

The tractor-trailer is scheduled to be removed at a later date. Further updates will be provided once they become available.
