A 16,000-pound cone rock crusher fell off a transport truck on Algonquin Ave.

It could have been tragic, but fortunately, no one was hurt yesterday as a 16,000-pound piece of mining equipment known as a rock crusher fell off a transport truck and crushed the rear of a crew cab pickup truck.

D/Cst Neal Turner tells BayToday that the 37-year-old male driver has been charged with "unsecured load on a commercial vehicle."

He says the transport was turning left onto the bypass from Algonquin when the equipment slid off, bounced onto the roadway, then hit the pickup.
