Train strikes propane truck

A propane truck was leaving the area and got stuck on the railroad tracks

This could have been much worse!

OPP say shortly after 3 p.m., yesterday they were called to a motor vehicle collision on Sunnyside Road, in Bonfield.

A propane truck was leaving the area and got stuck on the railroad tracks.

A train was coming but its crew was able to see the truck on the tracks and immediately pulled the emergency brake.

Despite that, the train hit the propane truck at a low speed, causing only minor damage.

Police confirm that the truck contained propane at the time of the collision, however, the collision did not cause any leaks.

There were no injuries as a result of the collision.
