North Bay’s Public Art Committee has opened its call for submissions for the 2022 Traffic Box Design initiative.

Artists and designers have until May 11 to submit digitally created images, high-quality photographs, or scans of original artwork for consideration. Submissions must be in a digital format and will be used to create an image wrap on a traffic control enclosure within the City. These highly visible enclosures are pole-mounted, metal boxes at controlled intersections that operate vehicular and pedestrian traffic signals.

Launched in 2020, this initiative is aimed at strengthening the prominence of public art within high pedestrian traffic areas, provide an opportunity to recognize local and regional artists and improving beautification within the City, according to a news release.
